I initiated a domain transfer to my web host, and I thought it had been transferred. When the expiration date came, mad dog domains turned off my site. I called them on the phone at 1:30 AM and "Luis" told me that it was impossible to pay by paypal, so I had to drive one hour to the office to get a credit card number to pay. He said it was impossible to transfer the domain name without paying mad dog first. I drove to the office, called mad dog ("Don") who did not know answers to basic questions about my domain like why I could go to my site and interact with it from the office but from home i would see the "parked domains" page, before i resolved the payment issue. He also tried to get me to log in to a separate domain host (domainsbyproxy.com). That didn't work, so i had to use my maddog login and i had to pay the full price including things i didn't want (privacy). I was then able to pay with paypal. Isn't that nice. I could have done that without spending $15 on gas at 1:30 in the morning. Then Don refused to give me an authorization code to transfer the site, he said i would have to first contact my new domain host to do that. He insisted after i asked several times. So I called ixwebhosting, and asked them to initiate the transfer. They said it was impossible til I got the authorization code. I insisted there had to be a way to start it without that. They said no. That took about 30 minutes. Then I called mad dog again, talked to Don, and said, "I need an authorization code to transfer my domain," and he immediately agreed to send it to me.
