It’s always a question in any webmaster’s mind. Had not you confused while buying your first domain name? There are so many domain name registrars and with lots of offers.
First you have to decide which top level domain name you want to go for. Top level domain names are .COM, .NET, .ORG, .EDU, .GOV etc. If you are going to use your domain for commercial purposes, it’s better you go for .COM domain names, but if it’s not available, .NET is normally the first choice among webmasters.
I personally like to register a domain name with www.Godaddy.com - It’s not because of their world famous Godaddy commercials but because of the use to book the domain name. A while ago, I tried to book a domain name with iPower, but so many issues cropped up due to billing method and I finally left the idea of booking the domain with them. First thing is, they did not accept paypal, secondly when I paid using my credit card, they came with some issues with international credit card. Oh my goodness, I thought I better drop the idea and go ahead with ww.Godaddy.com.
Booking the domain name with them was pretty easy for me, I registered with them, had my paypal account linked to my account at Godaddy… and just got away with domain booking within minutes. What else someone wants tell me!
The good thing about them is - Godaddy.com keep on sending new offers, and you may get a domain name for as low as $1.99 at times. I will let you know when they come up with some good offer next time.

Don’t forget namecheap.com! NameCheap is the only registrar I buy from simply because they don’t steal domains from people.
I’ve heard stories about GoDaddy.
