By now, almost everyone on the earth must be using Twitter for business purpose or personal. You could send the URLs / Links through twitter or opt for URL shortening services like bit.ly which I prefer to use. Twitter’s new domain, T.CO will be used as the official link shortener to protect users from malicious sites. T.CO links will appear within all tweets and direct messages. T.CO links will be monitored for malware. If malware is reported or detected then a T.CO link is flagged and a warning is shown to a user before visiting.

Users can still use existing link shortening services such as bit.ly, but those shortened links will be “wrapped” within an official T.CO link.
This link service will also be used to collect data as link click throughs, eventually to determine if the tweet is relevant and interesting to the twitter community.
Though some of us may have reservations about obsureness of URL shortening services that does not allow to understand what this URL is about, T.CO promised to offer display of whole URL and sensible part of it so that user understands where this URL can take them.
What are your thoughts about this new service from Twitter?

It makes sense for Twitter to use their own shortening service – after they made bit.ly so popular I guess they want to keep all the revenue possibilities for themselves
