Thats a very big jump - congrats on that one. Technorate is a great tool, and one I use on a daily basis.

Technorati authority and rank are like rocket science to me. I’ve never really had the motivation to check these stats for my blogs. All I’m doing is just to add original content on a regular basis and hope this translates to decent traffic. So far, so good, but maybe if I take a little time to study the Technorati numbers for my blogs, maybe I’ll be able to get them to suck in more traffic. Anyway, I hear Technorati numbers like you have for your blog are pretty good, so congratulations, mate!

I have nver realy caught on to the technorati thing, but it sounds like a potentially good source of traffic…

This is because there very few blogs with good technorati authority. Every increase in technorati point will lead to major boost in the rankings.

Technorati rank does seem to have more actual significance. I have always found Alexa a bit arbitrary

I don’t like how technorati has taken over as the authority for blogs.

I think it is like a little “comparing-game”…

I can’t quite figure out how it changes. But if authority and ranks depend on links that have timed out (180 days over), that could cause random changes at time.

If you keep working on your site, it definitely improves. Links get indexed and help in improving the rank and authority.

Rankings have been very up and down over the last few weeks. I’ve had whole page drops in Google, only to find they have returned to normal within a week or so.

My Technorati authority was 84 the other day and has now dropped down to 73-I have never understood why this number rises and falls like the tide. My Technorati rank is still well over 100 thousand.
