My blog recently have been bombarded with manual spam and couple of days before, I had to pull down my DoFollow plugin that I added couple of months back. But before I decide to bring it up back again, I desperately needed some more control on DoFollow plugin - specially since this blog got PR4 and PR6 post pages. Greg Boser’s new DoFollow plugin gives me that control over each of the comments.
I just have activated this plugin and now I am kinda seeing more control on adding DoFollows or NoFollows to the comments from my comment moderation screen. This plugin shall allow you to individually mark the commens as DoFollow or NoFollow - which is a great flexibility I shall say. Have a look!
I do have some confusion about this new plugin though. When I installed and activated it, it directed me to Options -> DoFollow page to select few options. I chose to “Remove nofollow from comments posted by registered users and other visitors.” with zero days timeout [that means "Nofollow will be removed immediately except from comments of type pingback or trackback"] - as per the snapshot below.
Whatever option I have chosen, Remove NoFollow or Donot remove NoFollow, I expected that it shall show me appropriate option on the Comment moderation page for all the comments posted in past. But for the option selected “Remove NoFollow…”, it shows me “NoFollow” for each comment as shown in the image above which I believe is the existing state of the comments and can be changed to “Follow” by clicking that link. Well, I was hoping to see changes in the Options -> Dofollow page to be reflected in Comment moderation page, isn’t it right Greg?

That’s a good move! Also, I noticed that you now only have 5 top commentators. Is that part of your spam control?
