Being in the software management field, I spend most of time in planning the projects and resource scheduling. Few years back, we used to use excel sheets or word documents to keep track of every other activity in the project. But everyone knows, that not all things can be done in excel.Proper project management is key to a successful project. To manage multiple projects and teams which are geographically spread across the globe, you need a quality project management tool. When it comes down project management, by default you need to know things like estimation process and project management tools. One of the first project management tools I used was Microsoft’s Project Plan and then later got a chance to use MKS tool. Both the tools deal with project management. Both these tools have their drawbacks like either no cost effectiveness or no ease of use.

I should try this software too. Until now all my projects have been running on my head. Occasionally a make some notes, but it’s time to go to something professional.

You can even give DeskAway (www.deskaway.com) a try - its simple and got a free plan - Its more than your typical pm tool with blogs, contacts, reports, calendar etc.

Good Project Management online software (from what I have seen so far). Yes, I would recommend it if you are running on a low budget, and/or your project is below $1 million. I think it has many features that I can see in Top software. With some improvement on next releases, Software could rank high!
