Wow- 25k last year is awesome. I just read your archives to gt some tips and see what streams you were utlizing. I hav not tried text ads yet on my blog. I used Kontera a while back on a forum of mine but was not impressed. I hav been hearing great things about Infolinks, I probably should check it out.

kontera vs infolinks. really cool fighting advertising online. still waiting income from infolinks…

29910. iphone said in April 27th, 2009

This looks like quite a good tool but looking at the links in your post it only gives links from one source…is this usual for in text advertising?

29914. Paul said in April 27th, 2009

We finally started utilizing Kontera, but I think having them in the content slows down the load time.

29915. Life is Colourful said in April 27th, 2009

@ iphone, that’s because I have removed the category for this blog as being generic blog. Where as on my other blogs, I have selected categories as per the blog niche and it works fine.

29917. Make Money Online said in April 27th, 2009

I’ve tried Infolinks before but I earned penny so I took it off. But I’ve yet to try their new in-text-link feature, I knew that we could change the in-text-link to only 1 underline, so people might think this is our outbound link.
I think I should give it a try again. :D
Good earning you have, I’m curious how many sites accumulate for that earning in a day? :D

Lee

Great post. I was just now thinking about advertising on my blog. This seems like it would be a great options especially considering the possibility of earning 25k. I will definitely look into the wordpress pluggin. Thanks for the info.

Very good review and right conclusions :) Although, You can also try Q2Click as in-text ads provider. They have high bids and also pay with PayPal

29965. HeHeHunter said in April 30th, 2009

@Cool Gifts
I appreciate if you do test out the wordpress plugin as it was created for the convenience of Wordpress Blog webmasters and Infolinks user.

@Make Money Online
I believe the reason you earn peanuts from Infolinks is due to the ad served on your site and your visitors.

If you visitors are local (Malaysian), then your click price will be lower as there are less advertisers in Malaysia. Most advertisers for Infolinks who advertise are “vemma builder” fellows which pays peanuts for click cost.

29967. Life is Colourful said in April 30th, 2009

@ HeheHunter, in a way you are right. The revenue depends on the country. But if I could get a chance to look at the demographic report for my blog, I would guarantee that I am getting very good click rate for clicks from India looking at my current traffic stats. Most of the traffic is from India this week and the revenue looks like in the range of $0.03 to $0.05 per click. Not bad compared to current adsense CPC I am getting.

I know there are many variables, but is there a standard way to estimate potential advertising revenue based on the number of page views a website has? I am planning an information based website aimed at small business owners and I would like to figure out roughly how much advertising revenue I can expect.

30000. Make Money Online said in May 3rd, 2009

@Hehehunter,
Oh, no wonder I always get penny from Infolinks, because most of my traffics from Malaysia and US. So I think US clicks will be higher.
Between, $0.03 to $0.05 per click is consider very low if compare to Adsense. I can get at least $0.20 per click from Adsense. :)
But it can’t be comparing because both of them are different ads, right?

Lee

@Make Money Online

You are right in making decision to drop it. I am getting less than $0.10 per day all the time. The max I ever get was $0.24.

Although my blog is not a high traffic blog, but I could earn more with Adsense.

30013. TriNi said in May 4th, 2009

Great comparison. I for one am still not a huge fan of those little pop up thingys that come up with these kind of ad sites, but hey.. it’s money earned so I can’t blame ya.

My site doesn’t get half as much traffic as yours though so I really don’t think I’d make as much as you from it but I might just give it a try someday.

Great post.

edit: blogger does not allow website links in signature.

Yes right Infolinks presents the next generation of In-Text Advertising.

@HeHeHunter - I think you should switch up what ever you are using for advertising because $.10 is working.

30051. Rahul said in May 8th, 2009

i got max.. of 2.5$ for single click..hehe i am going to launch my own blog soon.

30053. Best Affiliate Programs said in May 8th, 2009

On my website I’m using adsense to monetize my content. Do you know of any other effective contextual advertising method that has a decent click through rate. Maybe infolinks, or shopzilla.com?

i am not satisfy with kontera….will try for infolink…

30161. Ridhuan said in May 19th, 2009

I did found out that infolinks have more ‘link’ per page than kontera. I wonder how to register with more than 1 blog with infolinks or maybe switch the current blog with another. I can’t find how in the infolinks website. This is because I’m thinking of swithing from kontera.

This is a great post which can be useful to a lot of bloggers who don’t realize that their blog can actually make some money (which it deserves if it has great content). 25k however is a lot, mister ;) Like your blog, keep it up!

Just remember to work old, tested schemes. Ignore all the “make money fast, new super quick method!!!” scams because they obviously don’t work.

Can I add this to wordpress somehow? Can’t find a decent plug-in. Any recommendations?

Just a small hint, i think you should make a few tests whit the font you use on your blog to facilitate the reading of your content ;)
