You read couple of my earlier posts on blog about web design that I liked, but Robert’s blog is something different. First of all, Robert has adopted a magazine style blog design that is really appealing for me. This is much different than our regular looking blog themes and designs. I quietly sneaked in to see if that design is available for free or I get any reference but it looks like Robert designed the blog on his own. If I get a chance, I would not mind asking him the price for this magazine style theme he used on his design blog.
If you have a look at his blog which I would suggest you should, you would come to know Robert’s cool attitude. I can sense that from the line that got my attention
Just because I publish a page today doesn’t mean it’s worse than a page that was published five years ago and now has many links to it.
And this is where you get an idea on what he writes about. You can very well expect quality articles on designing blog along with some awesome articles on search engine optimization. And after reading the archives and articles from different categories, I could understand where the featured blog post comes from “Robert, Using link popularity to boost your position”. Now what I mean by featured blog post, because it seems to be dynamic and the featured posts come at the header position.
This was all about goody goody stuff, but somewhere I found out that Robert does not want to loose the PR juice to his loyal commentators, I am not sure whether it’s the blog design issue but top commentators have not be given due credit in return for being loyal to this blog and commenting often. If you see the top 10 users list on left should be actually linking back to the commentators’ websites. If it could be changed, I am sure there would be moderate number of comments for this quality design blog.
Overall, I would say it’s worth visiting Robert and get maximum blog juice out of his design blog.
