Auction - It’s always exciting and when it’s domain auction, it adds up the spice. The TRAFFIC East live domain auction in Orlando, Florida is will have hundreds of premium quality domain names as contenders. I heard there are around 110,000+ domain names that have been submitted for review. Ofcourse not all would be in live auction but very few chosen ones, rest of them should be available in online auction.

The premium live auction is scheduled on 23rd May 2008 from 3.30 pm to 6.30 pm EST. There are some interesting high quality domain names that might be chosen for live auctions [The fully finalized list will be available at Moniker at end of this week though]

TRAFFIC EAST - Premium Domain Name List

Had you seen last time, TRAFFIC live domain auction had gathered whooping $4.3 million. It will be interesting to see what price these domains above draw in the live auction this time. No doubt, you would see a follow up post on this at end of this month.

But let’s play a game here, dummy auction and lets see if we value the domains the way they do in live auction, here are some simple and quick rules

  1. You have to choose any 5 domains out of the list above
  2. The bidding starts at $5000, with increase of $1000. If there is no bid for your selected domain, you can start that with $5000.
  3. We will compare our selections with final results of TRAFFIC Live domain auction and decide if we can be part of next year’s domain auction.

So here is my bid:

  • Athelete.com - $5000
  • Pay.com - $5000
  • Jackpot.com - $5000
  • DiscountTravel.com - $5000
  • Men.mobi - $5000

My simple logic to choose the five favorite domains of this list is various niche. Athelete.com from health / sports, Pay.com from Finance niche, Jackpot.com from gambling, casino niche, DiscountTravel.com from travel niche and Men.mobi is looking at the increasing demand to .mobi domain names.

Update: Now here is the interesting thing, You only have total $30000 with you and you can bid on 5 domains maximum. It would be interesting to see what all you can get in $30000… haha!

I can’t believe how much some of these names are going for. I did read the other day that pizza.com went for 2.6 million dollars.
