How to Increase Your Blog Subscribers by 10-20%

Well, the blog post title is enough attractive and looks more like an offer by a magician. It’s because gaining blog subscribers have become a magic looking at the similar kind of blog mushrooms everywhere. Is it possible to do what I am claiming here? I am not going to tell you any out of the world idea – but it’s something that you have with you but did not know.

Recently blogging idol contest has been proved to be a hit across the blogosphere, and Daniel has done a good job in raising the dust. What? Did you say – there were controversies? Well, it’s good for blog’s health – you know.

Alright so back to the topic. This blogging idol contest poked me to think how can someone increase the subscribers without much efforts. Even though this blog did not participate, does that mean I would not like my blog subscriber count increasing? I would.

Here is the simple solution. The email subscribers of your blog are always prompt in confirming their email account but not all. Many of the times, it might happen that they could not access their mail after subscribing to your blog by email. These all subscribers lie in your email subscribers’ list as “Unverified” readers.

Now you have to do some work here. Collect all those email IDs, and have a close look at those email IDs. There might be chances that many of them did not give proper email ID so they never could get the mail. For example, lifeiscolourful @ gmai.com. Someone would never receive the blog subsciption email, because he or she has forgotten “l” in gmail or “o” in Yahoo or similar. Correct those email IDs. Assuming, you have a list of all proper email ids – now it’s time to say them hello.

Compose a nice mail to these readers mentioning about their past subscription effort, what could be the reason they could not be subscribed in case of spelling mistakes in email ID, what all you have been doing with your blog, where your blog is heading, what type of interesting topics you are discussing, any recent important activity that they have missed or would miss in near future etc. These mail should not enforce them to try out your blog subscription again but it should be enough appealing that most of them give it a 2nd try [hopefully with correct email id this time].
