Did you have the TLA code to sell links on your site or was it just an advertisment from them? Just wondering?

I personally never advertised TLA or put any of their banners on my site.

my website went from PR4 to 0 in the last week and I dont have any TLA’s. Although I do write lots of reviews. I had actually deleted any disclosure notice but it was still penalized.

Hmm… that could explain why one of my blogs dropped its PR even before the PR update. Do you think paid links on blogposts are also penalized?

5364. Life is Colourful said in January 14th, 2008

Paolo, if you have PPP code installed or mentioned PPP in your review post tags that can be also one of the reasons cause PPP was hit after TLA in Google’s latest decision.

Joe, yes paidlinks can be a reason as long as they are clearly mentioned as sponsored links.

i am reapplying to have my PR put back, i have not used TLA but used PPP a few times.

I know the feeling. I went from PR5 to PR0 to PR3 between October 2007 and this week. There’s more on that here: http://www.joetech.com/2008/01/12/reviewmecom-sucks-and-google-finally-give-back-some-page-rank/

I think that this is not so related to the pagerank, because it’s probably outdated, and actually, I have a blog with PR 4 that lost all its rankings suddenly, and never got back on track, so google penalization is not necesarily related to PR

I have also faced the same problem with my site: http://niche-technologies.blogspot.com. Earlier to Google’s Update, it was having PR 3. After it, its PR came down to 0. :( :(

The thoughts posted here would definitely be useful to everyone. Thanks for sharing.

It happened also to some of my blogs. It went straight from PR4 to PR0. I just removed the RSS code for Text-Link-Ad. I did NOT submit “request consideration” and some of my blogs got the PR back.

Just wanted to update you. After about 5 months and a lot of backlinks, I’m back to PR5. If you get dropped, you CAN get back up there.

7259. Life is Colourful said in March 21st, 2008

Hey Joe Tech, Congratulations mate! Finally you got back your PR5. Yayy!

thanks for this post! i googled how to get my page rank back and thankful to see your post. I just noticed this morning on my google toolbar that my site is PR0 when for the last 2months it enjoyed PR3. I removed earlier my textlinkad, but after reading this post and comments, i will now get rid of my disclosure policy. I just hope they will bring my PR back.

I’ve lost my PR as well, my PR went from 3 to 0, but my traffic still steady.

I don’t have TLA installed and Ihave no ide why they remove my PR, anyway I’ll try your way to use “Request reconsideration” on Google Webmaster. hopefully its work.

Thanks

You have put up a good explanation on how you got the PR issue reconsidered by Google. And i would like to know how long did the entire process take to get the PR back.

10027. Life is Colourful said in May 13th, 2008

It took around 1-1.5 months, PWDesign.

I had the exact same thing happen to. I was a bit luckier and got my pagerank back within 2 days.

I had purchased the site recently and blamed it all on the previous owner - that might have helped.
