27417. Calvin Richardson said in February 6th, 2009

Great post. I’d been wondering how to get more links from technorati and this seems like a great way. IT’s very sneaky linking to these pages in order to get them to link back, but it seems like a good tactic. Thanks for the recommendation!

27424. Paul said in February 6th, 2009

Thank you for the tip this is one I am defiantly going to utilize.

27511. Net Age said in February 9th, 2009

I tried this startegy, now I just have to wait and see. Thanks once again for this post ;-)

27513. Calvin Richardson said in February 9th, 2009

Does anyone actually see Technorati as a useful tool? I feel like it’s like alexa in that it’s terribly overrated.

27515. Jake said in February 9th, 2009

Very rarely somebody puts out such a straight-forward tip. Usually we see those SEOMoz styled posts about either general philosophies or incremental toiling with site tweaking.

I will try this method and I will return and report my results. 16th to 22nd of February will be the days to focus on this so expect my report after that.

27517. Ryan Martin said in February 9th, 2009

Like Calvin, I don’t see Technorati as a very useful website, but this is a great idea. Any dofollow links from a high PR domain are a good thing. Keep up the big brainstorming!

27521. Chaunna Brooke said in February 9th, 2009

Very sensible tips. I totally and definitely agree with your relayed tips. Thanks :)

Very useful tip, thanks. I never considered using Technorati for backlinks

27527. Beamer Thuis said in February 10th, 2009

Nice, but pagerank is not everything. I still think relevant backlinks count for a higher value.

27530. Paul said in February 10th, 2009

Beamer- you maybe right but getting some extra link love always helps. :)

27549. Armand said in February 11th, 2009

Pagerank is what blogger concerning to, especially for a brand new blog, then traffic will follows.

27572. Pepper said in February 13th, 2009

Sugary sweet words of advice. Love it.

Beamer. Totally true that relevancy trumps, but a few extra low-effort, high PR b/l can’t hurt, right?

27877. Chelle said in February 18th, 2009

It is funny but I haven’t really thought about technorati or ever really used it for success. Maybe now after reading this I should – I don’t think I even have my site listed in it though!

Hey! What you’ve suggested here is great. All types of backlinks are great and specially something from a credible website such as Technorati is obviously a great back link. Great post!

28195. wordtrotter said in February 24th, 2009

thanks ! the truth is i don’t know to use properly the technorati site. I must say that now this is the time to start to get backlinks for my blogs.

28276. Community of People at Life Chat said in February 25th, 2009

This is a genius idea, Life is Colorful! I’ve been wondering how people can get more out of technorati. This is a great way to do it! I’ll definitely be using this one. Even if part of the effect is temporary, this could be a nice booster with high PR backlinks that give you a traffic surge for a while and then still some backlink credit for the long-run too. Good stuff!

28284. Mark - console news said in February 26th, 2009

That’s some great advice there. Do you mean that I could add the nofollow attribute to my link back to the blog in order to make it a one way link? I’m new to blogging.

29124. Puneet said in March 13th, 2009

didn’t knew abt this … i had a look on it and have a question in mind…

wat if it shows 65,411 blog reactions .. to get that pr backlink we need to be on top of those reactions … right ?

29359. iphone said in March 21st, 2009

Sounds nice and easy – just how I like it! I’m going to give this a go. Thanks.

29360. iphone said in March 21st, 2009

I’m struggling here – I’ve made a blog post with a link to one of the top 100 but it isn’t showing up in the reactions list – do I need to do a pingback, or just a normal link?
Thanks

29375. Cazare in Bucuresti said in March 22nd, 2009

The problem with do-follow is people will spam. If a blog is good enough then the blog owner won’t need to have do-follow because people will comment to put their point of view accross, not to gain a back link.

The BBC is a perfect example of this. There are no links in the forums and blogs, yet they have many users.

However, when a blog is starting and it wants to get a upper hand, their is no harm in attracting people who want do-follow links, because some will become hooked, so even if you change to no-follow, people will still comment.

29386. Reason Refills said in March 23rd, 2009

Sounds easy enough. One question I’ve always had is about multiple links from the same domain.

If you have 50 back links from one domain do google weight it so its not worth as much as 50 links from different domains?

29412. Kawasaki Motorcycles said in March 24th, 2009

I would agree with the observation that the 50th link from the same domain is not worth as much as the earlier ones.

29422. Ally @ Lasik Manitoba said in March 24th, 2009

In reply to Mark’s question above – yes you could (should?) nofollow the link to the high profile blog.

Technorati picks up nofolled links just as well as dofollowed links, so your link should still appear in the blog reactions page.

Great tip by the way!

29495. djamz said in March 30th, 2009

29586. Paul Scott said in April 5th, 2009

Nice atrticle. Thanks for teh tips.

29587. Paul Scott said in April 5th, 2009

I have noticed that nofollow link still appear as backlinks. So I resume Google is using them?

29703. josh said in April 14th, 2009

I believe there is value in every link, whether the link has nofollow, or the page has nofollow. The amount of value may differ, but there is still value, search for “follow the path of nofollow”.
More and more dofollow links start to appear again it seems (also on my blog) and I think that is a good trend
