Finally, the Google pagerank update is in progress. I was reading Matt Cutts day before yesterday and he had given a hint that these coming few days would be exciting for all webmasters. His short note on PR update in progress has given good topic for webmasters to discuss about. The blog post title says Google toolbar pagerank than the Google pagerank, because the pagerank keeps on changing often but the toolbar updates are done after every 3-4 months.
And this is confirmed news!
Well, I am happy to say that all my new blogs started showing some increase in PR. Recently I had started many new blogs in different niche, and was hoping to get some good PR. Though it was not something out of the world increase in rank, it’s good enough for new blogs. Some of my blogs went to PR4, PR3 and PR2 now.
Unfortunately, this blog does not seem to impress Google :-), and still holding the fort with page rank 3. Looks like my link building efforts last month could not work out. It’s also a possibility that the PR being volatile for few days may change again, and I might get PR4 for this blog. I am not that sad about this blog’s no PR change, as the blog has been doing very well in Alexa ranking [65000 now] and technorati ranking [10000 now].
Penalized Websites are Re-gaining the pageranks
Google has decided to expire some of the older penalties now. You must had seen, Google started penalizing the websites meanwhile, and many good blogs have lost their pageranks due to several reasons like using PPP posts, Text Links Ads etc on their blogs. Those blogs could have re-gained their pageranks certainly. Few of my niche blogs that were PR3, PR4 and then went to PR0 are now PR2 or PR3. So it’s again a good news for all of us.
I am interested to know how it’s going for your blogs and websites.

and I still don’t know why - so all a bit of a mystery and Google seems to be refusing to index one of my sites at all ! Curiouser and curiouser.
mine went to PR3 from PR0. Don’t know if that’s going to stay or not, because it’s still early in the updating process. Things might change in the end.
