Google Pagerank Update June 2009

That’s a great idea. I lost some pagerank on one of my sites, but hadn’t considered that it might be do to the number of paid links I use. I’ll remove some and see if that helps.

One of my blog page rank drop from 3 to 2. Wondered what could be the problem. I am making some blog changes so hopefully it will rank better.

Well with more websites online than ever before I think they are making sure things don’t get out of hand. PR is not a huge thing to me. I would rather go for ranking in the search engines.

It’s great that they’re updating it so frequently. Because up until now you could’ve been working for couple months before the PR has been updated and you could see if your efforts were succesful

I think what you’re looking for to see if your page is indexed with google is to search for site:http://yoursite.com and it will show the indexed pages

My blog, doesn’t get affected, still page rank 2 just recently got my page rank 3, but thanks for the info, I never thought we could actually send Google reconsideration request …

One of my sites went from a PR2 to a PR1 ( and I wasn’t selling links ). Another one of my sites was a PR2 for over a year and is now a PR3 so I can’t complain. I did notice the PR update was very early based on the quarterly usual. I would be one who would like if they updated every month from now on.

If you use Firefox i recommend you to instal plugin called SEOQUAKE. That’s very usefull tool

Hmmmm…..this is some good news to hear Google may be updating every month which does make sense….they just updated in may. Wonder how this will play out.

I’m on the fence whether the pagerank changes are categorically good or bad, but I can see the necessity to update them with high frequency (monthly). Unless they preempt the activities of others, they could very easily lose control of the legitimacy of their results.

Unless you plan to sell links on your website…PageRank is not really very important.. Write good content and attract SE’s and Visitors…

Indeed page rank has become the mile stone for any website and instrument because if any website which has not any pr means that has low quality popularity and low quality contents.

I wouldn’t worry too much about pagerank. Try to focus on driving search traffic to your site!

Hi ! I think the major google update are yet to come. My site lost internal page pr. but someone also got a pr 0 to 1. do anyone have idea about next google update.

I am not sure that PR counts for anything to be honest. An indication of authority perhaps which might make it easier to attract link partners. However, and don’t think that there is any direct correlation between PR and traffic.

OK, I have a noob question here. When you say they update the page rank, are you saying they are simply reassessing ranks, or actually changing the method they use to rank?

At the moment i think you should be more concerned with practical results (SERPS, NR of Links, etc) than a number that Google updates each 3 months…..

So if each 3 months update pagerank the next will be on September.

Any idea when the next PR update is due? Or does it seem like Google is reverting back to 3-month cycle after weeding out and trimming back some “undesirables”

I recently saw a dip for 1 of my blogs in rankings.

I had added an outbound link to one site to promote it. It wasnt a paid link. I just added an outbound to my site. It was dofollow.

I was not very sure but looks like for some reason google dint like it.

I am working hard to restore my ranking but seems really difficult now.

You might be interested to know that the big G just had another update. It took sometime but most people noticed a change in their sites late last week.

My PR decrease from 3 to 2.
