Happy New Year, everyone. May your 2009 be fully of increasingly higher page ranks.

about time, now I can really start link building

26104. Me Debt Free said in January 1st, 2009

Here is a wierd thing happened to my site. It got PR3 in the update but still gets NO traffic from Google!!!! My keywords do rank but are still way down the radar for people to click on my link. Its a very saturated market I think.
This is proof to me, that PR has nothing to do with traffic whatsoever.

I am sure everything will be OK in the NEw Year. Cheer up my deer ME Debt Free.

26113. Milo said in January 2nd, 2009

@Me Debt Free
PR is not linked in any way with traffic
I would focus on getting higher in the SERPs if I were you

26115. Life is Colourful said in January 2nd, 2009

Yeah true! PR is not that important for SERPs, I have already started getting traffic to this blog post from webmasters looking for current Google PR update 2008 / 2009

26117. SoLinkable said in January 2nd, 2009

Ah, I had no clue that the update has come and past. My site has not changed at all in terms of PR. It didn’t move from a PR3. I haven’t really noticed any change in traffic (or anything really) when I move up or down in PR. PR doesn’t mean much of anything anymore. Thanks for the heads up though.

Google did an entertaining thing in that they paired up the updates with the change in year. It sets people on the more accurate values to start their next efforts, and so it is a complement to the time of festivities.

26122. José said in January 2nd, 2009

Hi,

My blog keeps PR3 and this has been going for months (more than 8), even if it shows on Google’s first page for some searches.
Heck ! Heck !

Happy New Year !

José

My web blog Pr 3 Next pr 4 :)

26133. Rahul said in January 3rd, 2009

i feel you are not targeting on some niche thats why your home page has less rank.
and your posting frequency reduced in 3, 4months.

26142. Silvia said in January 4th, 2009

I also think higher of the SERPs than of PR targeting to get more traffic.

26149. Travelcn said in January 4th, 2009

I think PR is still important, maybe not for ranking but for people who still trust PR, many people link for those sites with higher PR.

26163. Webkinz said in January 5th, 2009

After some time I must say that this update was a great new year’s present.

26179. Paul said in January 5th, 2009

Sorry to hear about this blog losing PR but at least you get to tour London. What is the url for your new blog? Opps it is probably the travel blog which I will go visit now.

26182. Ari Lestariono said in January 5th, 2009

Maybe it should post using anchor text link to generate more page views than home page

26186. Bay Area Lawyer said in January 5th, 2009

I get confused about Google PR and how its calculated, especially for internal pages. I understand how to build PR, I just have not figured out how to calculate it so that I don’t over work myself for it.

26205. Judit said in January 6th, 2009

PR is something webmasters shouldn’t care a lot, but it is always nice to see improve in PR as it is sort of reward for hard work. Anyway i guess it doesn’t have much impact on traffic.

26208. Selbourne Designing said in January 6th, 2009

Not got lucky this time. Is it over…..hope its not.

26216. SoLinkable said in January 6th, 2009

@Bay Area Lawyer:
I believe that everything to do with PR is mostly just speculation anyway. I don’t think anyone (outside of a Google Engineer) can honestly say that they truly understand how it works…

26239. Mike said in January 8th, 2009

I saw pretty much the same results on my sites. The newer blogs/sites gained PR while the older ones stayed the same.

26278. Electric cars said in January 9th, 2009

Ya google pr update is finished but my site is as usual, i just increase backlinks from it, not pr.

27564. Diseñador said in February 13th, 2009

I do not know if Google updates the pagerank, but I already has over 1 years with a PR4, every time Google does not put it more difficult to attract visitors to our site, Google wants all the web traffic for them, is not just be left to compete and I am trying to get by with Google Adsense.Pero really earn a pittance if you have it 5 to attract more visitors.

Greetings.

How long should it take a regularly updated blog to achieve PR? Mine is still PR0 :(

29454. Net Age said in March 27th, 2009

When is the next PR update due? We’re sitting on 27th of March currently, so I am intrigued to find out exactly when.
