Well, it’s one more story of free stuff for you. I love that and I know, you also love the free stuff. Recently I told my friend Enkay from enkayblog.com that I am moving to UK for long term and need to take care of lot of things. I would not surely like to stay away from you friends - so I started looking for few important things from here only. I already decided where to stay but unfortunately that place is still to get internet connection as the friends just moved over there. One of the important things, I started looking for now is broadband connection.

Obviously I don’t know much about services in UK at this moment, but I would simply do the broadband comparison, and go for the best one. But one moment, do you guys know that there are broadband services that offer free stuff for opting to their services? Free Laptop with Broadband Connction Keep in mind, while looking for the best deal - you should also look for what else you are getting extra while zeroing down to the service. Almost all top broadband companies provide the similar quality of services, and you should select those depending on the extra stuff they are providing. Specially, when the extra stuff is like free laptops for broadband users.. how about that!

Like US, the UK broadband market is opened up a lot but I feel it’s still expensive. The home broadband connections are relative cheap but the wireless broadband connections are not cheap at all. So here is how I would be compensating the extra cost for wireless broadband connection. Currently I have one laptop with me, and once my wife joins me in UK - I would need one more. So I am going to get a wireless broadband connection that would help me to be online wherever I go and along with that I am going to get a free laptop.

Wireless Broadband Connection Honestly, I did not know about such offers and I think I came to know about it at right time when I am moving to UK. Thanks to websites like broadband-experts.co.uk. I think I would bring up more such websites that would help people like me who are immigrating with UK HSMP work visa under Tier-1 rules. I just tried to bring up one more free stuff post so that you should be also aware of it before you finalize on any of the broadband connections.

The trouble with free stuff is that there is always a catch and sometimes they just contribute to derail and cluster one from achieving or buying a more quality product or service.

But funny enough, we all still do love free things, do we?

A free laptop is nice, but I doubt it’ll be a very nice laptop. You could probably sell it for a few hundred dollars. Here in Toronto, Canada, it isn’t rare for our internet providers to offer $150 or $200 free for a signup.

It is always worth looking at the total cost of payment for the contract to see what you will actually be paying.
With laptop prices dropping all the time you could be paying more!
It is also worth checking out some of the free laptop deals with companies such as Utility Warehouse.

While the free laptop might be nice, I don’t think I would make a long-term decision (such as where to bank or what wireless provider to use) based on short-term gains (free stuff)….they’re called gimmicks for a reason

I’d always be skeptical about too much free stuff, especially when it’s something bigger like a laptop. Note the provider has to pay for the laptop and your presumbled bargain could emerge as extortion with hidden costs etc. Just be careful;)

It really depends - If you can’t afford to make a one off payment for a laptop and still need one then the option is there for you to get a free laptop. Offcourse the cost will be higher but there has to be a tradeoff for someone to offer you an expensive gadget without asking for a full payment.
