You know I have been using couple of blog review services for my other not so high profile blogs and one of them is buyblogreviews that is pretty new and trying to establish. I would review them certainly for your benefits later some time but one of the advertiser website attracted my attention in there. No matter they accept it or not, but I was going to review that advertiser’s service for you here anyways. And as they accepted and request me to add the tag saying it’s a sponsored one, don’t think I am going to write all goody goody in the review. I would still give you my honest opinion about this service as always. One of the reason to review it here today was - it’s a Free CMS and as most of the readers here are bloggers or webmasters, I would find it appropriate to bring it up here for you.
Coincidently, I am also looking for a good CMS for one of my domain names recently bought and I would prefer not to start a wordpress blog there but have a content management system instead. I tried Zoomla in past, but it could not impress me much and since then I am looking for something that interests me.
I am currently registering for this new free UCoZ CMS and will use it for one my new websites. The things that attracted me to UCoZ CMS are modules like Photo Album, Links Catalog, Web Polls etc majorly. That’s not easily implementable in Wordpress blogs and it’s better that you use CMS if you would like to develop such website. That’s my plan is and I need photo album for that website certainly.
To use this free CMS, you need to just register with them and it’s then easy to manage from admin control panel. If you don’t have your own domain name, they also provide you a sub-domain on one of their top level domain names that are provided in the drop down while you register.
Apart from the features I mentioned, you would also get these modules with this free CMS - Blog, Forum, Ad Board, Guestbook, Tag Board (mini chat), Publisher (a catalog of articles), File Catalog, Site News, Web Polls, Email Forms, Tests, FAQ, and Site Users. With so many modules available, one can create a feature rich website with very good designs. By the way, meanwhile if you would like to check out what all features each module has, feel free to visit them and check it out, meanwhile I would set up a sample website using their CMS. By the way, they are free for the limited disk space they are providing and if you allow their UCoZ copyright message at bottom or there is some payment involved that I would discuss later.
Alright, here you have a sample website I quickly created to have you look at the features and design. While using the control panel, I could come up with some points that would be helpful for you -
- Ease of selecting modules while setting up the website. I have taken only 5 min to set it up.
- Lots of website designs to choose from, I have chosen one quickly for me to setup but you can take good enough time for your website set up and check out all of them.
- The modules that I selected are pretty easy to use, and I have shown use of blog and photo album as sample use at my UCoz CMS sample website
- The Ad Board is fantastic idea, you can use it for many purposes, I am thinking to use it as local directory of businesses.
- The website setup is free with 200 mb disk space and UCoZ copyright message. For any additional diskspace like 400 mb, 2500 mb, 5000 mb, there are monthly charges involved. The maximum disk space is available for $9.99 only, so it’s not really lot of money incase you really need extra disk space. Removing the copyright message “Powered by UCoZ” it an costly affair though, as it costs $4.99 per month.
- The deep URLs in modules don’t seem to be search engine optimized
If you are new webmaster, I would suggest you to give it a try and build something innovative using this CMS. I really liked the features they have provided. Let me see if I can build a real website in there and share with you as a case study.

Thanks for sharing that CMS. I am using Wordpress and Joomla for my 2 sites. Wordpress is easy to use but it is lack of many essential features. Joomla has many features but it is not easy to operate. Will you tell me that if this new CMS is easy to operate as well?
