“Happy Birth Day dear Life is Colourful blog, You have made my life really colourful!”. These are my thoughts at this moment. This blog really has been making my life so interesting and colourful since I got involved in nurturing it up. How this blog was born is an interesting story, specially the domain name.I had this plan in mind to build a personal blog before even buying this domain name. The blogs I had were mostly in specific domains like finance, technology, entertainment etc but there was no blog as such where I could pour in my thoughts, where I could review what I like and what I don’t like, where I could write about my experiences in building links, increasing traffic, getting Google PageRank, making money online from blogs. But I did not want this blog again niche specific like others.

Going back to 2003-04, when I started knowing more about internet advertising domain, Google adsense, publishers and advertisers was kind of a turning point in my online life. I remember I used to spend hours together online chatting with friends, playing online games or just browsing. Since I got to know about Internet advertising and marketing, it lured me into knowing how things work in this domain. Eventually, reading more and more, browsing forums like DP and some research allowed me to start my own websites and blogs on some free platforms like blogspot. Those blogs don’t even exist now for some or the other reasons, or they could have been 4-5 yrs old blogs. But implementing Google adsense with those blogs were my first experience in making money online. Even I tried the infamous mesothelimia blogs where I made like $6 per click at times [obviously I don’t own such blogs anymore]. My journey of making money online started with $100-200 per month and that was sufficient to become my motivation.

In the journey, I tried many advertising platforms like Adsense, YPN, Adbrite, CPA networks like CJ.com and have seen the success and big checks in almost every other big platform. This extra online money after paying all the taxes and expenses proved to be enough, over and above my regular earnings, to use for whatever I want in life. Whether I wanted to invest that money somewhere, or wanted to decorate my home, or just donate at times - it just made my life much easier and specially colourful. That’s where I thought about this domain name and bought it for myself, Life is Colourful.

To celebrate the success of this blog and first anniversary, I am arranging a small contest for my blog readers. It’s like a personally invited small function at my house. Though I was pretty busy last week with difficulties to give enough time for the blog, and to start preparing for the contest, I could get sponsorship worth $1200+ prizes and there are many still coming. It becomes difficult to decide when to stop when the sponsorships are still coming. Most probably the contest will run all June month or from 2nd week of June month at least.
