I am pretty sure that you like to read such articles that give you ideas to increase backlinks for your new blog, specially few out of the way methods. My crazy mind sometimes think kind of out of box and try to see how you can take best benefit of the social bookmarking websites. Not necessarily everyone would agree to what I suggest here, but I don’t see any reason not to go for it.

Keep in mind, any quality dofollow link is good backlink for your blog – so don’t ever think that the page PR is high or low to begin with. Technorati.com is a PR8 website and dofollow backlink from any pages on this website would be a good credit in Google’s eyes.

First and foremost thing is you should register your blog with Technorati, and your blog page would be your first dofollow backlink. And there is your dofollow link, did not I assure one from Technorati?? What else you are looking for.. ha! I am kidding… actually there is more to come.

Easiest way to get dofollow backlinks from top Technorati pages

1. Technorati.com has a list of Top 100 blogs which comprises of highest authority and eventually high PR popular blogs like Huffinton post, Engadget, Official Google Blog, Gizmodo, BoingBoing

2. Each of these blogs have their own Technorati profile page which is at least PR6

3. Scroll down on this page for “blog reactions”, each blog linking to these top notch blogs must appear on this list. Remember when you link to these blogs, your blog post link appear would appear in this list as well.

4. You get a temporary PR6 backlink but more important is your blog get a permanent dofollow backlink from Technorati’s pages other than your own profile page.

What’s my logic behind considering this as good dofollow backlinking method:

The actual pages your blog link is on might not be high PR page, but remember that page itself is linked by high PR pages of Technorati, so it still matters considering the rule of Quality neighborhood.

While I was analysing my Google webmaster tool, I have observed that some of my blog posts have got many dofollow backlinks from various pages of Technorati and these are counted as dofollow backlinks for those post pages. This link analysis is done using Yoast’s SEO link analysis tool in Google webmaster tool. Follow this path in your webmaster tool login to find it out: Google Webmaster tool -> Links -> Pages with external links -> Click on the number in column “External links”.

Such backlinking does not link only to your homepage, but you get backlinks for your inner pages helping to get PR for inner pages too which eventually helps to increase your overall internal pages PR as you see on this blog.

If you are too bothered about (dofollow) linking to top blogs (you will be linking to some good blogs, so don’t worry) just to appear in their dofollow reactions list, you are not forced to give them dofollow backlink, did I say that? Technorati shall add your blog in the list no matter what kind of link it is. Though, it’s good to give dofollow but if you don’t want – don’t do it and enjoy one way backlinking.

I have been one odd viral trains in past. No doubt, my blog was benefited with the backlinks and my technorati authority shot up to levels of 50000 from nowhere that time but that was only compilation of some website links. Technorati Authority is comprised of the total number of unique links to your blog in the last 6 months. Though stats of your blogs improve, the content goes down. I found a nice mid way though. This will not only get your backlinks and improve your technorati authority but also give you some of the best articles to visit around the blogosphere.

Alright, so start posting about this, comment here and we will update the list with latest contributers to this great blog post train.

Well, it’s there since last few days and I have taken snapshot of it for simple reason of the number – 9999! Not much to write about it at this moment, but I would soon let you new bloggers know, few ways to increase your Technorati authority. The most important method is to publish quality content though.

Though it does not have a huge significance in my blog’s quality, it’s just something I wanted to achieve in statistics of this blog.

Last time I posted about sudden jump in my technorati ranking that I really could not understand what kind of bug technorati had seen in past. But I am not sure now what should I call it, a bug or reality, I am not understanding at all. I am not sure what happened the other day with this blog’s technorati rank but suddenly the blog started showing up technorati rank of 14800 that was 12130 last week. The blog reactions at technorati have been increasing every day and the blog authority reached to 379 with the blog showing up technorati rank 12130. Next day, I see the authority remains same but the technorati rank reaches to 14800.

First of all, I could not believe such a huge downfall in a day and moreover the round figure of 14800 make it little suspicious. I don’t have much in hand to do, but I thought I shall bring it up so if you are also facing this issue – we might think of together how to get it fixed.

Early this year, I had mentioned about my goal to take this blog’s technorati rank to top 10000 from 15592 [Feb 2008] and I had almost reached half way to 12130 in only 2 months but this sudden downfall makes me reinstate my goal. Anyways, I would bring it in Top 10000 blogs by any way this year. If I could increase the technorati rank by 3000 in 2 months, I shall not take more than 6 months to get my position back.

It’s not like I am a statoholic but it’s just that there are always few things in our life that we want to achieve. In the same way, I want to take up my blog to Top 10000 blogs in technorati. Apart from the challenge, there is nothing interesting in this.

I am not using some “get quick cash” kind of tactics to increase the technorati ranking of this blog but I am going slow and steady on the technorati rankings of this blog like a long term investment

I have seen the technorati ranking of this blog around 18-19000 few months back and since then it’s consistently increasing day by day. I hope you know that more your authority, more your ranking in technorati. And how do your blog gets authority in technorati is when technorati calculates how many “authorized” blogs link you back.

Right now the authority is around 317 and the ranking is close to 156000. This authority can change as technorati excludes the links that are older than 6 months. So if you monitor your authority numbers, you might see some variation in the technorati authority after few days interval.

For lifeiscolourful.com, my goal for this year is to make it to Top 10000 blogs in technorati. Let’s see if I can achieve that. Wish me all the luck and link to any of the posts on my blog that you like!
