Since early morning today, I am just reading tweets about Apple iPad but nothing else, that almost ruined my nice tweeting time in the morning. Since I come to know about iPad, I was skeptical about it’s success because I did not find it any more than my iPhone stretched upto a limit. Looking at Apple iPad, it may impress you but think about the reasons below that may lead Apple iPad to iFlop (at least with standards of Apple products)
Think about the name
Did you like it in the first go? At least I did not. Apple iPod, iPad - does it sound ’shame’ oops, same. Moreover, this iTampon discussion on twitter made me laugh so much about it. I had posted a spoof commercial of iPad this morning on my twitter, you must watch it - here is the direct link. Now tell me that you still like to have one.
Lack of Multitasking
After using iPhone for a while, I was eagerly waiting for multitasking feature in the next product, but iPad failed to offer that. Yesterday itself I was in train, and wanted to watch a video and same time tweet something. No way, I could do that on iPhone and I would not be able to do that on iPad as well.
People are used to have Camera now
Phone users are so used to have a camera embedded in the gadget, and iPad could offer that easily with it’s broad borders. It’s just Apple probably thought to make it unique by not offering it. Cummon, you are not doing anything other than stretching iPhone and removing the phone capabilities, why did you remove camera too?
No Flash support
First time I noticed it on iPhone when I tried to open a Art publisher’s website but was stunned to see that iPhone does not support flash applications. Of course, I did not use any other Apple gadget so keenly before. Apple iPad does not support flash too. With growing websites supporting flash, you won’t like to have a BIG APPLE iPad in your hand with a white hole on your screen. I would not call it as a best web experience I ever had.
Bigger buttons to Press on Keyboard
Do you remember those flashing lights on the floor, where kids jump and a number would be pressed. I can’t remember it’s name. But getting me bigger keypad will not help me but only will frustrate me to stretch my fingers far away to press buttons. I have a habit of holding the iPhone in the hand and pressing the buttons with fingers of the same hand, I don’t think it would be possible with iPad.
Sorry, you don’t impress me much!!!
