This search engine optimization method we are going to discuss shall be the simplest method to optimize for wordpress blogs. Why I am talking here about wordpress blogs only, because blogger already has implemented this tact by default.

We are talking about the difference between URLs like http://www.lifeiscolourful.com/nofollow-or-dofollow-link-train-contests-are-fun/ and http://www.lifeiscolourful.com/?p=6

It’s well proven that if you have keywords in your page URL, the page comes in SERPs sooner than you expect. Google loves to see the keywords in your page URL and bring your page upfront. This blog has been experiencing this for many of the posts that start coming in Google search results within couple of days of posting.

Getting this done is very simple method but many of you might not do it, just because you might not find it out how to do it quickly in wordpress, or you have lack of time due to busy schedule even though you are strongly willing to get it done for your blog or you are just a lazy bum - We don’t mind catering to all type of readers.

First step is to login as administrator to your wordpress blog [Now I know this step could be avoided, don't you think so?]. You can now go to “Options” and then “Permalinks” in the second row of tabs.

If you would like to have only Post name in your URL, add /%postname%/ in “Custom Structure” or if you would like to have post name as well as post id, add /%postname%/%post_id%/

Before you update your new page URLs, it’s important that you install Permanent redirect wordpress plugin that replies a 301 permanent redirect, if requested URL is different from blog post’s permalink. This ensures that there is no duplicate content for your blog post in Google’s eyes and only one URL associated with each blog post.

And now you can update the new search engine optimized page URL structure for your blog.

After recent chop down in Google PR for many of the blogs, it looked like the viral link trains have been almost stopped. But not like that - I am still seeing a viral train running with superfast speed on the web. I happened to talk with an acquaintance who was running a business in travel industry. He has been running his big enough travel agency since last 10 years with help of traditional ways of marketing like Billboards and news paper advertisements. He is pretty new to online world and have been hearing a lot about online business, online marketing like keywords.

Due to my little bit knowledge in online marketing and internet business, he had invited me to discuss on this point. Our discussion was flowing in different directions in internet marketing and I kept on talking about SERPs - my mistake, I did not explain him what all SERPs are about. So I quickly gave him overview on how search engine ranking work and how it benefits to the businesses.

Now when you discuss few things with novice in that field, you yourself get to learn a lot. Because they sometimes come up with such questions probably you never thought of or you never have given time to think upon.

I gave him examples of how my blogs went from PR0 to PR4 and how they started appearing in Google search engine’s 1st page for specific keywords and bringing me traffic. He asked me, “Can we get better SERPs in a month or so as I need to launch my new website within 15 days and get the things rolling in month?”.

I could have just answered a straight NO - as I have seen how many efforts we put after any website’s better search engine placement and then be helplessly dependent on Google or any other search engines like Yahoo or MSN to index our websites and bring search engine traffic. And I did not want to give him false promises as well and did not want to discourage him from coming into online world of marketing as well. [Mostly such people with traditional thoughts are scared to enter online and just shy away if they get negative response in the beginning].

I suggested him - Yes, you may get better search engine placement for your new travel website but you might like to hire a search engine optimization firm so that they not only would help you in building links for the new website but also help in choosing right keywords for sponsored searches and optimize the site rightly for natural listings. Though I suggested him to opt for a firm, I personally never had tried one yet but have been hearing success stories from other webmaster friends.

Personally, I feel this helps to big businesses than small bloggers. Simply because such businesses can spend a lot of money on marketing then why not some fees to the people who do it rightly for you. Simply like hiring an interior designer for your house work than doing it yourself when you are spending few thousand $$ on make over of your new home. Better give it to the experts when it comes down to spending lot of money, did I say right?

I wonder who is the brain behind concept of TNX.net that can be pronounced as “Thanks” at times. There is a big reason I shall thank him - to bring this idea on board to increase the back links to your website or blog over period of time but quick enough. Thankfully, it’s not a viral train or something like that.

Tnx.net has brought unique concept of back links with various anchor URLs. I am sure this idea will not let Google turn down the advertising websites under paid back links concept they just brought in. So it’s pretty much looks safe to buy links from Tnx.net at this moment.

I am observing them [Tnx people] and they are coming up very fast in this territory. Everyday, I am seeing many links are added to the system everyday, with a speed of almost 7000-10000 links being available per hour - that is enormous speed of 100-200 links per second.

In the Tnx system, the price will be calculated for the links you have to offer based on Google PageRank (PR) of each page, website category, link popularity, and number of outbound links your website / blog has. So they pretty much cover all important aspects to decide the price. I used the cool Income calculator by giving my website URL, and well, it works pretty neatly. Few days before Google PR update, it has given me appropriate value of my website and after the page rank update, now I see good value for links on my website with PR4 and PR6 web pages. The calculator tells me, that I can earn around $400 with 4 links per month. Not bad at all! I already started trying this system, why don’t you also take benefit of it.

I registered my website, and decided to create a campaign - where I would be able to buy some links. I am using the 5000 credits to buy links, and decided to opt for 3-4 different niche websites for back links. I was impressed with the details I can chose links with. I get a feel of how many links I can buy if I chose different PR websites with specific credit dynamically.

I initially had problems while installing the Tnx.net code on my wordpress blog but the owner of the website is very helpful to redirect me to the solution quickly. Overall, the site design is pretty neat, but I would like to see more affiliate banner designs probably - I already participated in their affiliate program - hope to reap some benefits out of it.

I think it’s time for me to think about completely moving to a service which gives me better credit than 50%. I am really excited to use this system and see the outcome in next couple of months. What you think about Tnx.net - appreciate your comments.

Looks like long awaited Google Page Rank update happened finally. This blog on Making Money Online is doing well since it’s started from last few months, the technorati rank is below 50000, Alexa rank is almost close to 300,000 and now Google page rank is PR4 from PR0. I have been working hard on quality back links for this blog and was hoping a good Page rank update. When I say quality back links, I tried to get many 1-way back links rather than link exchanges. This can be one of the reasons, the blog PR updated to PR4. I am happy with the update. What this means is, more visitors commenting on the blog posts to enjoy the link juice from my do follow blog, More advertisers interested to buy advertising on my blog [I decided not to get flattered with the Page rank update and keep the same low rates of advertising and review till 30th Nov - so hurry to buy the advertising ASAP], more attention from blogosphere in terms of quality blog with good PR and so on…

Honestly I was expecting a PR5, may be I believed iwebtool’s Page rank prediction tool too much. And I was a bit disappointed seeing PR4. I quickly recollected why I felt sad for a moment - One of the reasons why I wanted PR5 was, the categorization of blogs like PR0, PR1, PR3, PR5 and above. For example, Payperpost categorizes blogs like this for offering the opportunities. Second reason is - I have seen PR4 for pretty much all time with my other blogs, so this is not something very new to me and I am not like “very excited” to see green bar of PR4 on Google toolbar.

But certainly, seeing a blog shooting from PR0 to PR4 is really commendable and it’s not only me, but many of my virtual friends have reached to PR3 or PR4 like Mahdi Yusuf, Mubin Ahmed, Enkay, Ms Danielle, Cash for comments have achieved it. I linked them here, because I consider their blogs as good blogs to read and I need to become choosy while linking back to the blogs now ;). Hope they like to give me a friendly link back as well.

Waiiiiiiiiiiiiiit one sec! While writing this post, I realized that many of internal pages of this blog have been given PR6… Surprising isn’t it! I used this tool from livepr.info to check Page rank of internal pages of website and amazingly I found 9 PR6 pages on my blog here. Just check out this tool, and add my website name and see yourself. I wish I could see the same PR6 for homepage as well :). But I am happy either way.
