It’s not a rumour, neither the free search engine optimization consultation is from some amatuer bloggers. It’s not the usual forum where almost all bloggers are still seeking help but no experts to help out. And whoever tries to help, does not guarantee a good support of experience.

Keeping in mind that many bloggers are turning up as full time bloggers and thinking to make the living on online earnings, a social network to exchange information was very much needed which is moderated by experts. As you can feel how important their thoughts would be, this social network of webmasters matters and their opinion counts.

I was glad to be part of this community last week and would like to share the news with you as well. I have already started seeing many good discussion threads coming up on search engine optimization and it does not only stop there.

The homepage links to some valuable videos and books on starting a business and brilliant ideas on bilding million dollar projects. Just add to it, I see a legal advisor helping out in the problems that might occur while starting up a new business, you are just away of starting a new discussion thread under appropriate category to get her legal advise for no cost at all.

With my little experience in Search engine optimization, I am trying to help out fellow webmasters and blogger who have been raising their queries in the discussions. There is a good scope of sharing information with like minded webmasters, and learning through it.

This much needed common platform for webmasters has potential to be Mecca of webmasters and it’s far ahead in professionalism from some existing popular webmaster forums.

Unfortunately it’s not statistics! So it’s very difficult to implement that complex statistical formula and rank a “link”. Why would you need to get into this funny business of evaluating a link though? Did you do it ever while you used to just browse the net, email your friends, chat with them and send across some greetings - nope!

But the moment you entered into blogging or became webmaster, you came to know what value “link” has. How important it is to get a quality textlink for your blog or website. It’s good to gather thousands of them but the question is if they would really help your website. It’s important to have links across the web linking back to your website. Here text link quality takes priority over quantity. But if it’s not statistics, how would you measure quality of text link? Though it’s not possible to get a number for the quality of text link, you can still evaluate them on few parameters.

What are the parameters to evaluate text links?

First of all, find out since when the website or blog exists which is providing you a text link. You should prefer older domains here. [Don’t run behind young ones here at least ;-)]

Next parameter is like digging out someone’s history and reputation. You should find out who all are in this website’s neighborhood. How many unique domains are linking to this website where you would have your text link. This should be sufficient - you need not go into neighborhood details of the neighborhood websites. If the website that you are getting link from, has it’s link on .edu or .gov websites - you are good to go.

Next you shall check how many external indexable links [read Dofollow links] this page has. Lower number of outgoing links on the page, better to have text link on such pages. I have avoided offers of 3-way link exchange only because of this factor so many times.

Theme of the website that is linking to you: If it’s close to what niche your website is in, it’s better. But I personally think this factor should not matter much as long as the linking website is clean website. If my finance blog get a link from very high quality automobile blog, should not it help. It helps, but not same as getting link from a very high quality finance blog.

Now is it important to have link back from many pages [site wide]? Well, the answer is - it does not hurt. Most of the juice you receive from 10-15 quality pages is almost the maximum value out of all the site wide pages. Having site wide links on 100s of pages, should not hurt though.

Finally, how powerful the link is? Many years back, people could not find the power of the links so concept of page rank came into existence and now it’s widely used to decide the power of links vaguely. Remember, not all high page rank links are powerful to give a boost. You should always consider all the points being discussed here while deciding the power of the link.

I can’t believe this, and you won’t too. Probably that’s why I took the snapshot for my records. My recent post published exactly 6 hours 40 minutes before, is indexed in Google and appearing in Google search engine at top position for certain keywords. I exactly had this in mind while posting this post on IPLT20 matches, as I wanted this post for two purposes, one for my reference and secondly to check out the Google indexing for this post. My post is indexed within 6 hours of posting with Google search engine [or might be earlier but I checked it after 6 hrs] and appeared on top position for keywords “ipl t20 schedule”. Check out this snapshot below. Now I want to see where it would rank for keyword “ipl t20″ or “iplt20″ in coming few days.

Few days back I have seen similar behavior with my another post on kontera intext advertising publisher referral spam and I had seen that post indexed within 11 hrs of posting [at least I had checked it pretty late but it must have indexed much before] and coming on top of Google search for two keywords “kontera network” [Google search results] and “kontera invite” [Googl search results]. This life is colourful blog appeared at 1 out of 182000 rank for both these keywords. Now, I have seen that searching “kontera invite” on Google shows, Kontera’s own blog at top rank and second is mine. Well, should not we give due respect to Kontera’s own official blog ;).
