Recently I have been coming across some cool tools that are very useful for my research on SEO. I have been reading some cool blogs too (which you would find in my link love soon) and that are giving me more indepth knowledge of analysis and research required to become better in SEO.

In the search engine marketing, while I realize that it’s important for businesses to keep a watch on their competition, it’s also useful for SEOs to analyse the search engine results pages (SERPs). You would call me Gennie if I would say that there is a website that does all this SERP analysis for you.

I am sure you would not expect all this just by searching your desired keywords in Google or searching your KEY words. I decided to give this website SERPAnalytics.com a try and registered with them. It was so good to be true, and it was still free. So it’s not always true that good things don’t come free.

I tried the SERP analysis and I searched for word “travel”. It’s interesting to share what I came across. SEO parameters for each website in the SERPs that includes Pagerank, Yahoo Backlinks, Yahoo Linkdomain, Quantcast Rank, Web Archive date, whether the website is DMOZ listed, Google/Yahoo/MSN index and even number of clicks which site gets on specified position per month, just WOW! I was impressed in first shot itself.

To my dismay, it also shows you where the site was in SERPs in past – this concept of archives SERPs cannot allow anyone to bluff about. Specially advertisers, you would get benefited by it a lot. For limited users (US IPs), the SERP analysis also show position changes in SERP then and there itself.

Unlike normal Google search results page (and by the way you can check all this for Yahoo and MSN as well), you would see a special box at the right side of the result page. This SERP stats page would show you the stats for the results on that specific page. I was impressed how handy the information of highest PR website and lowest PR website on that specific page would help. They are still in beta, and they are bringing me a lot for free. I am sure I would like to see all this implemented for Google SERPs for blogsearch as well. To see the SERP analysis in action, you would need to click on the snapshot above.

Looking at how it would help, I added few websites I wanted to analyse through domain search in “my account”. It allows me to see the domain summary and analyse any website for it’s top keywords. Damn, this is too much of information avaialble for free. I can almost search 200 websites everyday without paying a penny. To get benefit of all these tools, one has to register with them as all these features are available through user account only. One more good feature is Reverse IP search. It kind of gives you idea what all websites are located at what IPs. Simple but useful tool.

Now something more interesting, SERPanalytics.com also gives registered users access to their SEO tools including pagerank tool, bulk pagerank tool and top 10000 keywords tool. Yes, Top 10000 keywords that comprises of data from top paid keywords, top searched keywords and top expensive keywords as per the CPCs. Believe me all this will help you at every step of setting up your online venture. For example, just take the first step of selecting the domain name and you can finalize on the domain that contains important keywords in your niche. Or while you target the keywords for search engine marketing, you know the CPC, number of searches and all this data.

I won’t suggest you a crap atall, I am amazed with the information flow coming to me in such simple way. I am sure there is lot of hardwork behind this and before they make it a paid website, I would suggest to grab your seat and sign up for the beta version for free.

They say it would take only 1 minute to register but I will tell you, they lie! It takes almost 10 seconds only to register through the easiest registration process.

I am pretty sure that you like to read such articles that give you ideas to increase backlinks for your new blog, specially few out of the way methods. My crazy mind sometimes think kind of out of box and try to see how you can take best benefit of the social bookmarking websites. Not necessarily everyone would agree to what I suggest here, but I don’t see any reason not to go for it.

Keep in mind, any quality dofollow link is good backlink for your blog – so don’t ever think that the page PR is high or low to begin with. Technorati.com is a PR8 website and dofollow backlink from any pages on this website would be a good credit in Google’s eyes.

First and foremost thing is you should register your blog with Technorati, and your blog page would be your first dofollow backlink. And there is your dofollow link, did not I assure one from Technorati?? What else you are looking for.. ha! I am kidding… actually there is more to come.

Easiest way to get dofollow backlinks from top Technorati pages

1. Technorati.com has a list of Top 100 blogs which comprises of highest authority and eventually high PR popular blogs like Huffinton post, Engadget, Official Google Blog, Gizmodo, BoingBoing

2. Each of these blogs have their own Technorati profile page which is at least PR6

3. Scroll down on this page for “blog reactions”, each blog linking to these top notch blogs must appear on this list. Remember when you link to these blogs, your blog post link appear would appear in this list as well.

4. You get a temporary PR6 backlink but more important is your blog get a permanent dofollow backlink from Technorati’s pages other than your own profile page.

What’s my logic behind considering this as good dofollow backlinking method:

The actual pages your blog link is on might not be high PR page, but remember that page itself is linked by high PR pages of Technorati, so it still matters considering the rule of Quality neighborhood.

While I was analysing my Google webmaster tool, I have observed that some of my blog posts have got many dofollow backlinks from various pages of Technorati and these are counted as dofollow backlinks for those post pages. This link analysis is done using Yoast’s SEO link analysis tool in Google webmaster tool. Follow this path in your webmaster tool login to find it out: Google Webmaster tool -> Links -> Pages with external links -> Click on the number in column “External links”.

Such backlinking does not link only to your homepage, but you get backlinks for your inner pages helping to get PR for inner pages too which eventually helps to increase your overall internal pages PR as you see on this blog.

If you are too bothered about (dofollow) linking to top blogs (you will be linking to some good blogs, so don’t worry) just to appear in their dofollow reactions list, you are not forced to give them dofollow backlink, did I say that? Technorati shall add your blog in the list no matter what kind of link it is. Though, it’s good to give dofollow but if you don’t want – don’t do it and enjoy one way backlinking.

I got a private message on a webmaster forum today asking for link exchange with a PR6 website with any PR4+ link exchange in return. You might be getting such requests through various means, so I would better bring this to your notice as well.

First of all, this request sounds fishy if someone is asking for such link exchange where they are expecting something lower than their level. Mostly, such people if ever ask for low PR websites, they ask for three way link exchange with backlink pointing to one of their other websites.

How would you find out whether the site is legitimate?

1. Check the backlinks of this website, there should be considerable number of backlinks to reach to such high PR. If it’s lower PR you get request from, be sure that there should be some number of quality backlinks before you decide to say yes.

2. Go to websites like digpagerank.com and just add this website in there to check the real Pagerank. If it’s good PR, it will be shown in Green, and if it’s fake PR, it will be in Red. For non-confirmed PR, it will show it in Orange, avoid linking to such PRs.

As simple as that! Short article but useful info to keep in mind!

Link it Buddy

Of all the effective website traffic tactics that can get you best results, linking to and from other websites is the one of the most widely-used method. Just make sure that the Internet business you are exchanging links with is relatively if not utterly related to your own business. And of course, don’t overkill as this might ban you from search engines. Another way of to acquire your desired traffic for your website is through having your Meta tags contain usually used keywords that target your business. Meta tags seem to still help search engines in describing your web page. If you’re quite adept with the HTML aspect of your web pages, manipulating your meta tags would be a breeze. Keep in mind this would just help to bring your website on first page of search engine result pages at times.

I had taken this snapshot within 2 hours of posting on Scour search engine that is paying users for legitimate searches, commenting and voting. I have checked for indexing of my blog posts in Google after many days. They might get indexed even faster but I would not get chance to continuously check for the indexing right! If anyone knows about any online tool that notifies you about indexing of your posts, would be a good idea.

Last time, when I had observed this cool behavior from Google, it was indexing within 6 hours of publishing the blog post, the fastest Google indexing I had observed until then.

Now this blog has broken its own record by experiencing the indexing within 2 hours of posting. Cool, heh!
