This is so weird, that I am using gmail since so many years but never needed to embed an image while composing mail. This is very useful if you would like to insert / embed the images in the email itself at specific places instead of attaching those images. When I needed it today, I was not sure how so did a bit of research in my Gmail settings and found out the trick. So this how you can do it.

1.Check if you have ‘Rich formatting’ enabled.

2. If you already have it enabled, it will show all buttons except the one for inserting images.

3. Go to Gmail settings and then click on ‘Labs’

4. In Labs, there are various features waiting for you to try, search for ‘image’ or find out ‘Inserting images’ and enable the option and save it (save button is at the bottom of the page).

5. Come back to ‘Compose mail’ and look at the html formatting bar, it shall look like the one below allowing you to insert the images.

There is buzz around Google buzz all day today. Google has entered into the competition with Facebook and Twitter. Their punch line recites that it’s not all about 140 character status messages but beyond the status messages, Google buzz offers more. It allows you to share not only updates but photos, videos, and start conversations.

How to install Google buzz?
To use Google buzz, you need to have a gmail account. If you don’t have one, grab the gmail account here. With no surprise, Google has integrated Buzz so well with gmail, and it does not need any setup to start using Buzz. Go to Google buzz and click on Try Buzz in gmail. Once you login, you shall see Inbox link on the left, Buzz shall appear just below that.

And that’s it. You can start sharing your updates, photos, videos, start conversation.

But, currently I don’t see Google buzz in my gmail

At this moment, looks like Google buzz is flooded. Currently, even I am not able to see Buzz link below my inbox link. So how I am confidently saying that Google buzz is working. I have started using it on my iPhone already through Google buzz for mobiles. I accessed buzz on my mobile, updated my status too. I think I would start using it in parallel to twitter, better for social networking, isn’t it!

Google is launching Google Wave as real time communication and collaboration platform by this year end. It’s open source application and it has opened the sandbox for developer community. Google will launch 100,000 early adopters. I had so many questions about this product, and have my questions answered watching this video.

I would say that I was impressed with some of it’s features like playback, comments in the middle of conversation (did not get it what it means, it’s like selecting some text in email and add comment there itself instead of reply to whole email – like a review comments features in Microsoft word), also there would be real time message transmission in chats – so you would not see “Someone is typing..” kind of messages anymore.

After all this, one question unanswered and that is, how to get Google wave invite.

1. You are invited by someone currently using Wave: You remember when Gmail was launched, Google had distributed the invites to few people first and they could invite their friends after certain amount of time! For Google wave, similar invites would be there. So if I get the chance of being early adopter, I would have some invites to distribute to my friends, family, and blog readers. I can actually give them away as prizes

2. Signup for a Google Wave account: Now, you can also be part of Google wave early adopters by signing up here. This would not guarantee you that you would get the Google wave invite, but your chances are more than the people who don’t sign up for that.

Google pagerank again has been updated couple of days back in June 2009. While Google had never been so prompt, looks like they have set a goal in 2009 to update the pagerank every month.

The last Google pagerank update was just on 24th May 2009 and we had discussed in brief about it. This pagerank update in June month is a bit early thinking Google has been doing it quarterly in past.

Google has become pretty strict about selling paid textlinks at your blogs and websites, and we have seen some impact on the blogs due to this I believe. So if your blog has been affected by latest pagerank update and lost the pagerank, I would suggest remove paid textlinks and send Google reconsideration request which certainly works for penalized websites and blogs.

I have noticed the change in the green bar on 24th May for one of my blogs, but I did not give enough attention thinking it’s one odd glitch for the firefox Quick search status bar showing me PR of any blog quickly in Firefox. I was under this assumption that it’s too quick to even think about it, because the last update I have seen was in April 2009 PR update.

But yes, yesterday while taking a round of rest of my blogs, I found out that Google has started acting up and changing the green bar.

You might see some volatility in your blog or website’s Pagerank this week. I did not find much change in PR for my blogs except few of them (I have plenty of blogs running around), but happy to listen to what you have been experiencing. Specially when Google was not expected to bring one more PR change within couple of months.
