Answers to Everyday Questions

Human beings are most intellectual species in the world, you know the reason why! We can think, we have brains – right. How do you think our knowledge increased? Since childhood, we keep on observing things, we record them in our brains, if we don’t understand – we keep on asking questions. I am sure many of you have parents who were tired answering your questions since childhood. Some of them might have been silly questions, some of them brain teasers.

I was one of those kinds in my childhood, who keep on asking questions – my teachers were tired and used to avoid me at times . Simple reason – even they did not know many of the answers. But do you think, this only happens in childhood? Nope, it even happens now. As an human being, our knowledge keeps on increasing and we come up with new questions every moment, every hour, every day.

Coming to the point, now I use wikipedia kind of websites to increase my knowledge but keep in mind; wikipedia is full of knowledge but not necessarily provide answers to specific questions. I might not get answer to my question like “How do I cook elk burgers?”

Kooc Media has come up with an interesting site to provide answers to questions, an interesting initiative.

What’s interesting in 17things.com?

I would say there are many portals where you would see question-answer sections and many popular websites like Yahoo answers. But there is a difference. If I have to get answer from an expert, I would need to pay – so I would rely on someone who would answer my question and I think that might be right. Here at 17things.com, you would ask an question and one of the expert free lancers would answer your question – interestng, isn’t it?

Currently 17things.com is coming up very fast with questions categorized in various categories like technology, business, automobiles, finance etc. Your questions would be categorized in relevant category. You youself can be a free lancer and help answering others’ questions. Common guys, use your braings, knowledge you gathered and help to the community.

Something different – widgets

I read somewhere online that one of the horror film producers in India recently bragged that anyone who could watch his latest film alone and survive in the theater for 2 hrs, he would give away $10000 as a prize. Whether the it’s real or a rumor, does not matter but what matters is can you really do that? If you want to test it out, just check if you can survive a horror film. Addition to your knowledge

I found that the going through the questions, even if I did not ask – are adding up into my knowledge. It’s kind of being my inspiration to write about them as well. For example, I read a question in technology section about latest stylish gadgets.  Even if I can say that I keep myself abreast of latest technology arrivals, I would confess I did not know many of them like elliptical cabinets that can rotate 360-degrees or Nemo LED Chain Lamp.

Website design

Fortunately 17things.com has not been a clumsy website with lot of distracting graphics. It has been kept very simple and easy to navigate with little ads across the website but more knowledge. If I am not wrong, they are taking good benefit of the blogging platform. Please correct me if I am wrong.

More than the questions in my mind, I am interested in others’ questions

I am simply subscribing to 17things.com’s RSS feed to know what all are the things going on in people’s minds. What kind of questions people are asking, and if I can answer some of them. But if not, at least I would get to know something new. There is no harm in gaining the knowledge than losing the chance to get it. Give it a try, it’s all free knowledge!
