There is a sad news today that has hit my inbox. I have a group of artist friends and we discuss about the happenings in art field. By the way, for people who don’t know - I am an artist (painter) and have been nuturing this only as my hobby. This news, ofcourse, is very close to my heart and I am very sad on reading this. Just for my readers, I would like to give more information on this famour Christina’s world painting.
Andrew Wyeth passes away at the age of 91. He was famous for his “Christina’s World” painting. I have reproduced the digital version of the image here. The original painting is displayed in the New York Museum of Modern Art. Christina’s World was a haunting portrait by Andrew Wyeth of a crippled woman and a forsaken house on a bleak New England hill. Christina Olson in the protrait was a real person. She was born May 3, 1893 and died January 27, 1968. Except for the last two months of her life, she lived her entire life in the house on the hill in the painting. The house is located on a hill at Hathorn Point on the coast of Maine at Cushing. Today, the house is preserved as a tourist attraction.

I have had really a good time being on the interesting excursion to the New York Museum in your blog.It is my first visiting the art gallery in the net.Rather original.
